  • KLUNGKUMG    : Old Court Of Justice/ The Ancient Court Of King Justice
To rule over the island from his court at Samprangan, near the present town of Klungkung. Several generations later this seat of power was removed to nearby Gelgel, where it established much authority and prestige under the fourth succeeding Dewa Agung.

With the collapse of the Majapahit Empire in 1515, many thousands of Javanese Hindus, priests, nobles and entire followings of soldiers, artists and artisans fled the onslaught of Islam in Java. Pledging their services to the current Dewa Agung they settled in Bali, bringing fresh impetus to the already strongly Hinduism culture.

The 16th century was a golden age for Bali. Under the wise rule of Dalem Waturenggong from his court at Gelgel the island became a strongly unified kingdom, so powerful it was able to conquer and colonize both Lombok and Sumbawa. Under the auspices of the royal court the transplanted Javanese traditions of language and literature, music, dance and sculpture, took firm root. The philosophy fitted perfectly over the beliefs and practices of the people

 

  • GOA LAWAH       : Bat Cave Temple & View For Black Sand Beach

Goa Lawah means "bat cave" in Balinese. The center of the temple is built in front of a cave filled with thousands of bats. Founded in 1007 by , Goa Lawah is located on the main road between Kusamba and the turn off for Padangbai. It is considered very lucky and is one of the 9 kayangan jagat that is directional temples that is believe to protect Bali from evil spirits

 

 

 

 

  • TENGANAN        : Native Balinese Village
Tenganan, northwest of Candidasa, is situated about 5km from the main road. Tenganan is a symmetrically laid out Bali Aga village with a walled homes and unique crafts. Bali Aga was the original inhabitant of Bali, before the arrival of Hindu Javanese. Tenganan retains its ancient pre-Hindu customs through a strong code of non-fraternization with outsiders, further enforced by the protection of its surrounding walls.

Tenganan is charming and has some very fascinating authentic traditional festival (ritual dances and gladiator) like Bali Aga of Tenganan often holds the battle between local youths. The people of Tenganan are skilled in the unique technique of weaving, called the 'double ikat', where the belief in the magical power of the fabric is essential in bringing out the beauty of the ikat cloth

 

 

 

 

  • CANDI DASA      : White Sandy beach resorts

Located 90 km north-east of the airport, Candidasa is a calmly beach area close to cultural sites like the mother temple, Pura Besakih

A white sandy beach is actually named Kehen Bay, but in its development along the coast become objects and tourist attraction, the beach Kehen Bay changed its name to the area of tourism in accordance with the name Candidasa temple in the area.

One of the stories which the myths about the existence of the Temple Candidasa developing and believed by the local community Dewi Hariti Statue is located in a niche at the bottom of the mountain cliffs. It seems that dikisahkan Dewi Hariti initially was a yaksa in the Religion of Buddha eating meat like children. However, after obtaining enlightenment Religion Buddhist teachings, the Goddess and then repent and turn to be protective and loving children. Goddess statue Hariti next carved by 10 children, as the characteristic protective, loving, and also as an omen of fertility and prosperity. The local community believes that the Goddess Hariti means that many mothers who have children can give gift of fertility and prosperity. Therefore this place so much and were used by the husband - wife was not a descendant of the do’a seeking to bring offerings to the Goddess are Hariti.

 

  • TIRTA GANGGA : Water Palace of Karangasem
Tirtagangga is located at Ababi village, Abang District. It is about 83 km from Denpasar and 6 km from Amlapura to the north. Tirtagangga water garden was built in 1948 by the King of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. This water garden was constructed in a very unique architecture of Balinese and Chinese styles. Facilities are available in this area small hotels, small restaurants and food stalls, art shops, the toilet and a parking lot.

Tirtagangga Water Garden scratches on a 1, 2 Hectare area, which consists of three complexes. The first complex lies on the lowest level of this area, where we can find two ponds and a water tower. The second complex in the middle level is the location where we can find swimming pools; while in the third part, which is the main complex, we can find the rest house of the King.
Before the construction of the water garden, there was big spring water in this area. Therefore people surrounding the area called this place “Embukan” which means spring water.
The spring water was then functioned to fulfill the people’s need of water and also for the “purification” of the Gods (Ida Betara). For this case, the spring water is recognized to be holy and sacred.

The religious to construct this tranquil water garden for his rest house and also for the people’s function and the cool climate of this area, plus the fascinating view around, inspired the king leisure and pleasure.

  • SEBETAN            : Salak Plantation / Snake Skin Fruit

One of the local genius of Bali is a palm like plant called Salak which grows well in the area of Sibetan, Nongan and Batusesa village which is close to interesting places for tourist such as Candidasa Beach and Besakih Temple. Candidasa has been developed into various hotels and bungalows. Salak is one of tropical plantation that can produce round to conical fruits shape. The fruits are in a bunch of 10 to 20 pieces. During the fruits season one tree can give 3 to 5 bunches. The skin of fruit consist of overlapping brown conical to triangle scales with delicious white meat and one seed inside. The family name of this plantation is Arecaceae, the Indonesian name is Salak Palm or Snake fruit and the Species name is Salacca Edulis. Salak is one of Indonesian original fruits and it also grows it in Thailand.
